Bringing Heaven to Earth: Part 5

Jan 18, 2026    Pastor James Bell

Are you ready for a radical shift in your prayer life? This Sunday's message challenged us to examine not just IF we pray, but HOW and WHY we pray.

Jesus warned against praying with wrong motives—seeking recognition rather than God's will. The question isn't how long we pray, but how often. Prayer isn't a monologue; it's a dialogue. Are we leaving space for God to speak back, or are we rushing through one-sided conversations?

When we pray "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven," we're literally bringing heaven to earth. This requires persistence, humility, and a heart that seeks God's glory above our own desires. James reminds us that the earnest, continual prayer of a righteous person has tremendous power.

The challenge: Stop praying self-seeking prayers. Start praying heaven-to-earth prayers. Be still. Listen. Interact with the Father who longs to commune with you.
