Out of Egypt: Part 8
As we conclude this series, it is imperative that we revisit the inception of the divine intervention that brought liberation to a nation of individuals. A striking resemblance emerges between the narrative of Moses and the advent of Jesus.
Jesus delivered a message that continues to serve as the bedrock of Christianity, emphasizing the necessity of repentance and a return to God. Notably, when Herod rejected the same message that John the Baptist proclaimed, Jesus remained silent in response. Furthermore, Herod stands alone as the individual whom Jesus never addressed. This silence stems from the fact that Herod was afforded an opportunity for repentance but ultimately disregarded it by executing the messenger. Consequently, when we refuse to repent, we swiftly discover that God ceases to communicate with us.
