Power of Words: Part 3

Words carry weight — and they reveal what is truly in our hearts. In Part 3 of our Power of Words series, we explored one of the most striking contrasts in Scripture: Peter declaring Jesus as the Messiah by divine revelation (Matthew 16:13-19), then just moments later speaking words Jesus called a dangerous trap (Matthew 16:21-23). Same mouth. Same day. Two completely different sources.

Jesus did not just correct Peter's words — He addressed the source behind them. Our words flow from our hearts, and as Proverbs 4:23 reminds us, the heart determines the course of our life. What we allow through the gates of our eyes and ears shapes what comes out of our mouths.

The question is not whether we have spoken destructively — we all have. The question is whether we will guard our hearts and commit to speaking God's Word over our lives and situations.
